Once again AEMet didn’t get it quite right. They started off well on Monday, but after that reality and forecasts parted company. The storm travelling north affected the eastern Canary Islands more than the west and subsequently there was more cloud in the first half of the week on south eastern sides than north western. Although there was some rain, mainly for short periods in southern parts in the first half of the week it didn’t turn out to be the rainy week that was predicted. As is usual most rain occurred during the night and overall in the south it was much sunnier than predicted. After Monday the north enjoyed the lion’s share of beautifully sunny weather…until Sunday which brought a mix of rain, cloud and sunny spells; it was almost the opposite to what the forecasters had predicted.

The Weather in Tenerife 25th to 31st October

If recent patterns are anything to go by, it’s going to be a week of mixed weather on Tenerife as the Spanish Met Office are predicting a sunny week everywhere with temperatures rising slightly.

Weather in South Tenerife –  Mostly sunny all week with a 5% chance of rain on Sunday. Temperatures should be around 27C.

Weather in North Tenerife –  Mostly sunny all week with a 5% chance of rain on Saturday and 10% chance on Sunday. Temperatures should be around 26C.

Weather in East Tenerife –  Mostly sunny all week with a 5% chance of rain on Saturday and 25% chance on Sunday. Temperatures should be around 28C.

Weather in South West Tenerife – Mostly sunny all week with a 5% chance of rain on Sunday. Temperatures should be around 27C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater
–  Sunny all week in the crater with temperatures averaging 15C in the crater and 6C on the summit of Mount Teide. Still no predictions of snowfall.

More good news is that the cable car is operational again.

So far today there were short bursts of heavy rain in the north during the very early morning and it’s cloudy with the sun just beginning to peak through. The east is sunny; the south west’s webcams are still out of action and the south looks sunny.
