The Weather in Tenerife 25th to 31st October
The Spanish Met Office got their predictions almost perfect last week. It was a hot sunny week mostly everywhere on Tenerife with temperatures rising to above average for this time of year towards the end of the week. Some were saying it was calima, but we’re not so sure. Visibility was very sharp apart from one afternoon and there was no wind where we were in the north and south west. So it didn’t fit the usual pattern as calima is a term used to describe the hot sandy wind coming in from the Sahara. Still, calima or no calima, it was a lovely week on Tenerife
The Weather in Tenerife 1st to 7th November
Looks like another good week for weather on Tenerife. There is a yellow alert weather warning in place for the north of Tenerife for Monday, but it is only for high waves – hopefully the Tri-Continent Artesan Fair in Puerto de la Cruz car park won’t be affected. If you do happen to be in Puerto de la Cruz, please, please, please do not ignore the police tape on the harbour sea wall like the people I saw last week. It’s there for a reason. Nearly every year people are swept off the wall by an unexpected big wave…well unexpected to them, not to the rest of us.
Weather in South Tenerife – Mostly sunny on Mon and from Wed to Saturday. Cloudy Tuesday and mixed sun and cloud on Sunday when there will be a 5% chance of rain. Temperatures should be around 26C.
Weather in North Tenerife – A mix of sun and cloud on Mon, Wed and Sunday. Mostly sunny from Thurs to Saturday and cloudy Tuesday. There’s a 15% chance of rain on Monday and Sunday. Temperatures should be around 26C.
Weather in East Tenerife – A mix of sun and cloud on Mon, Wed, Thurs and Sunday. Mostly sunny on Friday and Saturday and cloudy Tuesday. There’s a 55% chance of rain on Monday, 15% chance of rain on Tuesday and 10% on Sunday. Temperatures should be around 27C.
Weather in South West Tenerife – Mostly sunny on Mon and from Wed to Saturday. Cloudy Tuesday and mixed sun and cloud on Sunday when there will be a 5% chance of rain. Temperatures should be around 26C.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Sunny all week in the crater except Wednesday morning with temperatures averaging 14C in the crater and 5C on the summit of Mount Teide becoming noticeably cooler as the week progresses. Still no predictions of snowfall.
So far today the Met Office prediction has been right for the north anyway. There was rain during the night. At the moment it’s a mix of sun and cloud mostly everywhere on Tenerife with the cloud burning off even as I type.
