The Weather in Tenerife 17th January to 23rd January

The period of stable weather continued until Wednesday in the south of Tenerife when it was interrupted by a calima which bizarrely by-passed some of the eastern islands. In the north the long period of good weather continued until Friday afternoon when cloud rolled in and the temperatures which had been around the 25C mark at midday dropped to a fresher 22C. The weekend saw rain showers affecting all parts of the island, although there were also periods of sunny spells.

The Weather in Tenerife 24th January to 30th January

It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a great week for visitors to Tenerife with a mix of sun, cloud and rain forecast across the whole of Tenerife all week. A yellow level weather alert (low) has been issued for heavy rain in all areas of Tenerife from 6pm today until 6pm Tuesday. The alert is also for winds of up to 85kph in southern, eastern, western and high areas from midnight tonight until midnight Tuesday. Seas will also be rough in those areas during this period. It might be sensible to postpone any plans for walking in high areas and the Mount Teide crater on Tuesday and Wednesday as high winds and snow have been forecast.

Weather in South Tenerife
– Rain is forecast for every day but there should still be sunny spells except for today and Friday. Temperatures should be around 22C.

Weather in North Tenerife – Same as the south with temperatures also around 22C.

Weather in East Tenerife
– Much the same as everywhere else on the coast except that there is less likelihood of rain on Thursday. Temperatures should also be around 22C

Weather in South West Tenerife – Exactly the same as the forecast for the south and north coasts of Tenerife.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Gloriously Sunny all week for the crater and Mount Teide’s with temperatures a cool 9C in the crater and an icy -3C on the summit.

The cable car is operating today, but chances are it won’t be on Tuesday and Wednesday so check before travelling.

So far today, despite only cloud being predicted, it’s a lovely sunny day across Tenerife so enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
