The Weather Forecast for 15th to 21st October
It was an interesting week for weather on Tenerife in a number of ways. The weather forecasters were once again mainly right, it was mainly sunny, there were cloudy spells and it did rain as predicted. What’s interesting is where it rained. The rain fell with a vengeance in northern parts on Thursday giving the ground a right old welcome soak before the sun returned for the weekend. In the south there were reports of only light showers that lasted for a short period.
On Friday, in the south west of the island where a day of sunshine was predicted, we were drenched by monsoon-like rains… of which there was no mention online. Reading most weather reports would give the impression that only the north experienced heavy rainfall during the week. This simply wasn’t the case – our sodden shorts and shoes are evidence of that.
Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 22nd to 28th October
Although last week wasn’t what you’d exactly call a bad week, the coming week will be even better with mainly sunshine everywhere except for a few clouds. Rain is forecast in most places but it looks at this point that if it does rain it will only be light, short-lived showers. The week starts a bit on the fresh side by Tenerife standards but the mercury will rise after Monday to a perfect mid 20sC.
Weather in South Tenerife – Looks like there will be a lot of sun around this week. The week should start bright and sunny and continue that way through to the weekend. There might be a few clouds about during the second half of the week and a 5 to 35% possibility of showers from Wednesday onwards. Temperatures will start the week around 24C rising to 26C for the weekend.
Weather in North Tenerife – It’s much the same in the north with a sunny week and a few clouds rolling in during the second half of the week when there’s also a 5-45% chance of rain. The week will start quite fresh with shade temperatures of 19C on Monday but that jumps 5 degrees from Tuesday onwards.
Weather in East Tenerife – Very similar to the north and south with mostly sunshine and a few clouds about over the weekend. There’s a 5 to 40% chance of rain from Wednesday to Sunday. Temperatures throughout the week will range from 21 to 25C.
Weather in South West Tenerife – More of the same, a sunny week with some clouds during the second part of the week and a 5 to 40% chance of rain from Wednesday. Temperatures will be around 26/27C.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It will be sunny in the Teide National park and on the summit of Mount Teide except for Monday afternoon and Saturday when there will be some cloud mixed with the sunshine. Temperatures in the crater will range from 13C to 15C and on the summit it will vary between 2C and 5C.
So far today webcams around Tenerife show a sunny start to the week with a few clouds still hanging around.
