The Weather Forecast for 18th to 24th February
Again the Spanish Met Office weren’t too far from the mark. They predicted rain at the start of the week and many areas, both south and north, had a good downpour on Monday night. Tuesday dawned to reveal a decent covering of snow on Mount Teide. After that, things improved with many parts of Tenerife experiencing lots of warm sunshine throughout the week with the north, east and south west enjoying the better of the weather and the south seeing a bit more cloud and cooler temperatures.
The week ended on a high with hot temperatures and cloudless skies everywhere on Sunday.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 25th February to 3rd March
It looks like a typical end of February week on Tenerife with the weather doing a who’s who of the seasons. At times it will be hot and sunny; at times it will be coolish and cloudy; at times there might be some rain and over the weekend we might even see some more snow on Teide. There will still be plenty of sunshine around and it will feel a lot warmer in the sun that out of it. Like last week the north, south west and east should see most of the sunshine. But the chances are it will rain most places over the weekend when the white stuff could fall on El Teide.

Weather in South Tenerife –  After a warm and sunny start to the week it looks as though the cloud will roll in from Tuesday and although there should be sun at some point every day, there’s also a 5-55% chance of rain with the weekend the most likely for showers. The week will start warm before there’s a slight dip midweek. By the end of the week temperatures should be back up to around 22C.

Weather in North Tenerife – It’s the same story in the north with a sunny start to the week before the cloud moves in. Like last week it looks as though the north will enjoy more sunshine than southern parts. The weekend will be more cloud than sun and there’s a 5-65% chance of rain from Tuesday. Like the south there will be a midweek dip in temperatures when they might drop to 15C  in the shade before heading upwards to 20C for the second half of the week.

Weather in East Tenerife –  Santa Cruz is looking like a good prospect for sunny weather this week with less cloud about throughout the week than in other parts. Like everywhere else it might be a cloudy and wet weekend. There’s a 5-60% chance of rain from Wednesday onwards. Temperatures will stay around 17-19C in the shade.

Weather in South West Tenerife –  Once again the south west will join forces with the north and east with the weather pattern matching those areas rather than the south. It will also be slightly warmer with temperatures starting the week at 21C and ending at 23C with no dip in-between. Like the rest of Tenerife there’s a slight chance of rain from Tuesday to Thursday (5-25%) and a good chance of rain over the weekend (25-60%).

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – A sunny week will turn to cloud and even rain over the weekend in the crater where temperatures will range from 5 to 12C. The summit of Mount Teide reflects this pattern except that the rain is more likely to be snow over the weekend and temperatures are a much cooler 1C to -4C. There will also be strong winds over the weekend (quite common when there’s snow). The combination of snow and wind should put a stop to the cable car so check it is running before travelling.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show sun all across Tenerife
