The Weather Forecast for 28th October to 3rd November
In many ways a typical start to November on Tenerife with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures but also the chance of rain. If the pattern turns out to be like recent weeks it should be good weather for both visitors and farmers. Temperatures will be a bit rollercoaster this week but there’s no doubt that the hot summer ones are on the wane to be replaced by extremely pleasant autumnal ones (autumnal being a relative term where Tenerife is concerned).
It’s worth remembering that when forecasters predict the weather for different parts of the island, the areas they are referring to stretch from the coast to the mountains. Subsequently there could be rain in one part of an area and not in another. For people who intend to walk on Tenerife it’s important to realise this as it is commonplace for folks to only view the weather in terms of coastal resort areas.
Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 21th to 27th October
It wasn’t quite a typical end of October week even though the weather forecasters were more or less correct. There was sun ever day as predicted, there were also cloudy spells and it did rain in parts. It was also very, very hot in parts. We were in Fuerteventura for part of the week and wondered whether the arid eastern island just experienced hotter temperatures but a friend in Los Realejos confirmed it had been unseasonably hot on the north coast as well. The rain when fell, did so mainly at night, so combined with sunny days, Tenerife’s flora is flourishing. As far as we know, there was no white stuff on Mount Teide.
Weather in South Tenerife – Much the same as recent weeks with a 5-65% possibility of rain every day, with there being less chance of rain as the week progresses. There should be plenty of sun around most days as well. The pattern for temperatures will also be similar with the week starting at around 26C before it drops to 21C then shoots up to 29C on Saturday before dropping back to 24C on Sunday.
Weather in North Tenerife – Looks like there will be rain in the north most days with a 20 to 90% chance all week. But if it’s like last week, most of that should fall during the night, especially as there is sunshine forecast for each day as well. However, it does look as though there will be more cloud than in previous weeks. There will be less of a variation in temperatures than the south with it varying between 20-24C throughout the week.
Weather in East Tenerife – Much the same story as the north with a 20-90% chance of rain each day. Wednesday, Friday and Sunday could be mainly cloudy. Temperatures will vary between 20 and 24C.
Weather in South West Tenerife – The south west looks like a good bet for plenty of sunshine this week although there is 5 to 20% chance of rain from Tuesday to Sunday and a 65% chance today. Temperatures should mirror those of the south.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Mount Teide won’t escape the rain again this week. But It should be sunny in Teide National most days except Monday afternoon and Tuesday night. On Teide tonight that rain could possibly turn into snow. It will also be a breezy week up high so check the cable car is operating before travelling, especially on Monday and Thursday.
