The Weather in Tenerife 19th to 25th December
The Spanish weather forecasters were spot on for Christmas week. The warm, sunny weather which greeted new arrivals to Tenerife last week would have been the perfect Christmas present. After Monday, it was sunshine for most of the week with only a few clouds about. Temperatures even reached a balmy 27C on both north and south coasts. The only down side was that the great weather kept Mount Teide snow free.
The Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 26th December to 1st January
It should be another warm and sunny week wherever you are on Tenerife; although, there might be a bit more cloud about than last week. This is perfect walking weather – warm, sunny and dry. The views from the classic Tenerife walks are sensational at the moment. With snow forecast on Teide during Friday, it’s probably wise to take care if planning to walk in Teide National Park.
Weather in South Tenerife – Not quite as good as last week but there should still be sunshine every day. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday will be sunny with the rest of the days a mix of sun and cloud. Temperatures should be around 22C all week. There’s a 5 to 15% chance of rain between Thursday and New Year’s Day.
Weather in North Tenerife – Monday, Tuesday and Saturday should be very sunny with a mix of sun and cloud on the other days. Temperatures should be around 18C in the shade. There a 5 to 20% chance of rain between Wednesday and Sunday.
Weather in East Tenerife – Exactly the same as the north except temperatures will be slightly higher (20C in the shade) and a greater possibility of rain between Wednesday and Sunday (5 to 30%).
Weather in South West Tenerife – Very similar to the rest of the island with sunshine on Monday and Tuesday and a mix of sun and cloud for the rest of the week. Temperatures should stay around the 24C mark and there’s a 5 to 15% chance of rain from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It’s full sun on Mount Teide on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with the crater also enjoying sunshine on Friday as well. Sun in the crater and not on the summit at this time of year can often mean one thing – snow. Sure enough, snow is forecast for Wednesday night, Thursday night and most of Friday. There’s quite a drop in temperatures up high – from 10c to 5C in the crater and from 1C to -4C on the summit so there’s a decent chance we’ll see a white New Year on Tenerife.
So far today webcams around Tenerife show sunshine everywhere for this dia de descanso laboral on Tenerife.
