The Weather in Tenerife 12th July to 18th July
Once again it was hot everywhere with hot weather alerts book-ending the week. The Spanish Meteorological Office pretty much were on the ball with the south and west of the island, but as usual Santa Cruz was sunnier than the forecast suggested and the north was glorious at the start of the week despite the more cloud than sun forecast.
We could have told you that it was going to be a scorcher in the north on Tuesday 13th as that’s the day when the Virgen del Carmen and San Telmo are taken for their annual boat ride in Puerto de la Cruz and no matter what the weather has been doing up to that point, the sun always shines for those two.
The Weather in Tenerife 19th July to 25th July
The week starts with a hot weather warning still in place until 8pm on 19th July. On the south, west and east coast temperatures are expected to top 34C in the shade. The warning also covers La Orotava and Vilaflor’s highlands, so take care if walking in those areas. At least there are forests to offer shade in both places, but the Mount Teide crater will be a boiling cauldron.
Weather in South Tenerife – Mostly sunshine all week.
Weather in North Tenerife – Mixed cloudy and sunny spells Mon to Wed & Sun, mostly sunny Thurs to Saturday.
Weather in East Tenerife – Cloudy Mon to Wed, Mixed cloudy and sunny spells Thurs & Sun; mostly sunny Fri & Saturday. There’s a 45% chance of rain on Tuesday, 35% chance on Wednesday and a 5% chance Thursday.
Weather in West Tenerife – Mostly sunshine all week.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Full unbroken sunshine all week.
Temperatures on the coast everywhere are expected to be 25+ all week.
So far today, the Met Office have gotten off to a shaky start this week as there is sunshine across Tenerife.
