The Weather in Tenerife 26th March to 1st April
We were on Lanzarote for much of last week so can’t say what midweek was like in the north of Tenerife. The week started cloudy but the sun shone through by Tuesday. We returned on Saturday for a wonderfully sunny and hot weekend with temperatures a few degrees higher than those we’d left in Lanzarote. According to reports the south experienced mainly sunshine with a few cloudy spells and only one overcast day.
The Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 2nd April to 8th April
This is the week that farmers have been prayer for. Rain is definitely coming. However, although it looks as though just about everywhere on Tenerife is going to experience rain throughout the week, sun is forecast for each day as well. That suggests a series of showers which is exactly what the earth needs. The dry earth wouldn’t be able to absorb prolonged heavy bursts. It seems as though Easter Friday may mirror last year’s dreary Semana Santa with Good Friday looking as though it could be more like a British Good Friday… albeit one that’s quite a bit warmer. There is also the chance of snow on Mount Teide, so the mountain may put on its white winter coat one last time.
Weather in South Tenerife – It’s good news and bad news depending on whether you’re a visitor or a resident. There’s between a 5 and 30% chance of rain each day except Tuesday. But there should also be sunny spells every day as well with Tuesday being the brightest and driest day. Temperatures will stay around 23C in the shade.
Weather in North Tenerife – Much the same as the south with a 5 to 45% chance of rain every day except Tuesday which should be a sunny one. Also like the south, the sun should make an appearance at some point every day. Temperatures will be around 19C in the shade.
Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny on Tuesday but a mix of cloud, sun and rain on every other day with a 10 to 55% likelihood of the wet stuff falling from the sky. Temperatures will be about 21C in the shade all week.
Weather in South West Tenerife – Exact same story as everywhere else, a dry and sunny Tuesday and a mix of sun, rain and cloud for the rest of the week with shade temperatures of around 24C.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Anyone wanting to avoid the rain this week should head to Mount Teide National Park where the sun will shine all week. The summit will be similar except there could be some late snow on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Temperatures in the crater will vary from 4C to 7C and from -2C to -6C on the summit.
So far today webcams around Tenerife show quite a sunny south Tenerife and a cloudy north with blue breaks just appearing.
