The Weather in Tenerife 5th to 11th September
First of all congratulations to the 15 climbers from across Europe who climbed Mount Teide for charity last week…and did so in the middle of a heatwave that saw temperatures soar to unbearable levels. The mainly heatwave affected the south, east and south west coasts with reports of 40 being reached. It was amusing to see the north of Tenerife described as being cooler as the thermometer only reached the mid thirties. It was simply an incredibly hot week across Tenerife with the south being mainly sunny all week and the north starting cloudy on Monday before the sun prevailed there for the rest of the week as well.

The Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 12th to 18th September
Again not much change in the weather forecast for the coming week. Typically hot September weather with mostly sun, a few clouds and temperatures touching 30C. The air quality as usual has been wonderful with crystal clear visibilty. Wonderful for walking (apart from the heatwave) and taking photos of the superb scenery.

Weather in South Tenerife – It should be another sunny September week although a few clouds might put in an appearance on most days with with Tuesday and Wednesday possibly seeing more cloud than sun. Temperatures will be a more bearable but still very hot 30C. There’s a 5% chance of rain on Sunday.

Weather in North Tenerife –  As with the south there should be sun every day but also quite a bit of cloud from Tuesday evening till Friday. Temperatures will be slightly lower than the south, staying around 26C all week. There’s a 5-10% chance of rain between Friday and Sunday.

Weather in East Tenerife – Hot and sunny with some light cloud most days apart from Friday and Sunday when there will be a mix of cloud and sun. There’s a 5-10% chance of rain from Friday to Sunday. Temperatures will be around 29C.

Weather in South West Tenerife – It looks like the south west will be the sunniest and hottest part of Tenerife next week. Apart from Tuesday afternoon when it’s a mix of cloudy and sun, every day is due to be sunny with only a few clouds and temperatures reaching 31C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It should be sunny in Mount Teide National Park and on the summit all week. Temperatures in the crater will be around 17C. On the summit it will be around 7C. It looks as though the wind on the summit could be quite strong over the weekend with gusts of up to 45kph predicted so check if the cable car is running from Friday to Sunday.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show a bit of a cloudy start on the south and north coast but with plenty of blue patches on both.
