The Weather Forecast for 7th to 13th October
It looks like there will be almost a rerun of the weather from last week with sun, cloud and rain forecast for every day across Tenerife apart from Monday. If it really is like last week, there should be a lot more sunshine than rain. Although there are no alerts at the moment it’s worth keeping an eye on local weather reports if planning on walking as those rains can fall with monsoon ferociousness if they come.
Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 30th September to 6th October
Last week showed why most of the time visitors shouldn’t worry when they see rain forecast. TV images showed flooding in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz… which came as a surprise as we were in the centre around about the same time. The rain fell heavily on Wednesday evening, catching out inadequate drainage systems. Passing by an hour afterwards you’d never have known it had happened. Next day parts of the south of Tenerife experienced the same, although showers lingered a bit longer carrying over into the day after that as well. However, most of the time it was hot and sunny.
Weather in South Tenerife – It’s another case of sun and cloud all week with more cloud as the week rolls on again and Sunday just being cloudy. There’s a chance of rain every day apart from Monday– ranging from 5% to 40%. Temperatures will start the week at 27C and end it at 24C.
Weather in North Tenerife – A mainly sunny Monday turns to cloud and sun for the rest of the week and a 5-95% chance of rain every day from Tuesday on. Temperatures start the week at 24C and end it at 22C.
Weather in East Tenerife – Same story with sun and cloud and the likelihood of rain from Tuesday on (5 to 95%). Like the north, temps will start the week at 24C and end it at 22C.
Weather in South West Tenerife – Again sun and cloud all week with a 5 to 40% chance of rain every day after Monday. There will be less of a changes in temperatures which will stay around 26/25C all week.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Back to normal on Mount Teide and in Teide National Park where the sun will shine every day. Temperatures in the crater will range from 13 to 16C whilst on the summit it will be between 4 and 8C.
Pic: October can be a great month for walking – Vilaflor in October, clear blue skies.
