Trying to find an accurate weather forecast for Tenerife is virtually impossible – the weather is often different around various parts of the island.
However, the Spanish Met Office do break forecasts into separate municipalities and we’ll be bringing you their weekly forecast for the north, south, east and west…and then comparing them to what the weather was really like.
The Weather in Tenerife 28th June to 4th June
Oh dear, what went wrong with the Spanish Meteorological Office’s forecasts last week? Things didn’t pan out weather wise quite as they predicted.
The north was sunnier than the forecast had predicted with a mix of bright, but cloudy days and scorching hot sunny weather. The day predicted to be the sunniest, Sunday, turned out to be the cloudiest. But they did get the prediction for rain correct, it rained on Saturday evening.
The predictions for the south and the west were also wrong with weather patterns more or less mirroring what was happening in the north. There was a lot of sunshine, but residents also reported cloudy days and shock, horror even rain on Sunday.
The east as usual had more sunshine than cloud, proving the weather experts wrong again.
The only place where the forecast was 100% correct was in the crater…but that one didn’t come from the Met Office.
It was warm everywhere with temperatures in the upper 20s and much higher during sunny spells – the sort of weather where people can get quite badly burnt if they don’t apply plenty of suntan lotion.
The Weather in Tenerife 5th July to 11th July
Weather in South Tenerife – For the third week running, mostly sunshine with a few clouds all week.
Weather in North Tenerife – Mostly sunny with a few clouds Mon, Tue, Wed & Sunday. Cloudy with sunny spells Thur to Saturday.
Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny with a few clouds Mon & Sunday. Cloudy with sunny spells Tue – Thurs & Saturday. Cloudy on Friday. There’s a chance of rain between Wednesday and Saturday. The east coast looks as though it’s going to be the hottest part of Tenerife this week.
Weather in West Tenerife – Like the south, mostly sunshine with a few clouds all week.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Full sunshine all week, except for Saturday morning when there could be some high cloud. Temperatures are going to be very hot up in the crater by the end of the week with a max of 28C predicted, but as there is virtually no shade up there it will feel an awful lot hotter.
Temperatures everywhere are going to be at least in the upper 20s all week.
Looking at webcams around the island (Monday am) and checking the weather outside, it’s a lovely morning on Tenerife. There’s sunshine and blue skies across most of the island.
