Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 3rd to 9th March 2014
The forecast is for more of a mixed week weather wise with the south and south west of Tenerife enjoying most of the sunshine and midweek probably seeing rain in the north and the east. Thankfully it doesn’t look as though any of the main carnival events will be affected. Temperatures will still be on the low side, creeping in to the low 20s in the shade and, par for the course in March, a weather alert for wild seas has been issued for the north coast for the start of the week. There might even be some snow showers on Mount Teide on Thursday.
Weather Forecast for Tenerife 24th February to 2nd March 2014
There was definitely a feel of spring in the air last week, with the sunshine dominating although there were still clouds making their presence felt on both sides of the island. Overall the south experienced more sunshine but this year the weather gods were kind to the start of carnival in the north. It did rain in parts, but mainly during the night, one of the reasons the island is known for having perfect weather.
Weather in South Tenerife – It should be another good week in the south of Tenerife with mainly sunshine every day, apart from a few cloudy spells, and only a slight chance of rain towards the end of the week (5-25%). Temperatures should hover between 18/22C.
Weather in North Tenerife – Although there will be sunshine every day in the north there will also be quite a bit of cloud and a 5-65% chance of rain (Thursday and Friday look most likely). Temperatures are on the low side hovering between 16 and 18C all week. The outlook for the carnival closing parade in Puerto de la Cruz on Saturday is looking very good, with a sunny day forecast.
Weather in East Tenerife – Midweek will be cloudy in Santa Cruz but the week will be bookended by mainly sunny weather and the big carnival parade on Tuesday should take place in sunshine. However, it is carnival week so there’s a 5 to 65% chance of rain throughout.
Weather in South West Tenerife – The south west should experience the same weather pattern as the south of Tenerife with a mainly sunny week with some cloudy spells and a slight chance of rain (5-20%) during the second half of the week. Temperatures should hover between 19/23C.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Tuesday to Friday will see a mix of cloud and sun in Teide National Park which could mean rain in the crater and snow on the summit on Thursday morning. Monday and the weekend will be sunny as usual. Temperatures will range between 8C and 12C in the crater and -2C and 2C on the summit.
