The Weather in Tenerife 23rd May to 29th May
The weather forecasters got it quite wrong last week. There was a lot more cloud around than predicted with the north being quite grey until Thursday when at least the sun showed up now and again. Things improved for the weekend with temperatures rising to the point of being very, very hot when the sun was shining. The south of Tenerife fared better with more sun during the week overall, but there were more cloudy spells than expected. There was some rain in parts but little more than spring showers.
The Weather in Tenerife from 30th May to 5th June
The week starts with the Dia de Canarias and traditional events taking place across Tenerife. As May comes to an end so does the rainy season (such as it is) and rainfall from now until October should be scarce on Tenerife’s coastal areas irrespective of where they are on the compass. The forecast for the week is pretty much sun all the way with the occasional cloudy spell on a couple of days in eastern and northern parts. Temperatures continue to rise with even Las Cañadas del Teide becoming positively balmy.
Weather in South Tenerife – Sunny and hot all week with temperatures around 26C. There’s an outside chance of rain on Sunday (5%) but if it actually happens, it will probably be a relief by that point.
Weather in North Tenerife – Sunny all week except Tuesday and Wednesday when there will be a mix of cloud and sun. Temperatures should be around 24C all week. There’s a 5% chance of rain between on Sunday.
Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny on Monday and Thursday to Friday with a mix of cloud and sun the rest of the week. There’s a 5 to 15% chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures should be around the 24C mark.
Weather in South West Tenerife – Sunny and hot all week with temperatures around 26C. There’s a 5% chance of rain on Sunday.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It should be sunny in Mount Teide National Park and on the summit of Teide all week except. Temperatures in the crater will be between 13 and 19C in the crater and 5 to 8C on the summit. It will be quite a breezy week on the summit with winds of 45kmh expected on Friday morning so .check that the cable car is operating before travelling.
So far today webcams around Tenerife are showing a beautiful sunny Dia de Canarias in the south and south west and a dull cloudy one in the north and east.
