The Weather Forecast for 26th August to 1st September
Apologies for missing the forecast last week but we were walking on La Gomera where the weather veered from being very hot to just hot. Unshaded routes were hard going but forest walking was perfect. Anyway, back to Tenerife where it was a week of two halves. The first being a mix of cloud and sun with lower temperatures and even some rain in parts. Things heated up for the second half of the week with cloudless but hazy skies bringing sweaty weather back for a scorcher of a weekend.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 2nd to 8th September
September is welcomed in with another hot week. However, there will be a change towards the end of the week when some clouds may bring a few showers everywhere. The alisios (trade winds) may be quite strong in parts this week, especially in the easterly Canary Islands and possibly on the east and south coast of Tenerife.

Weather in South Tenerife –  Similar pattern to recent weeks with another hot and sunny week  where the week starts with temperatures of around 27C before rising to 31/32C on Tuesday and Wednesday before gradually dropping back to 26 for the weekend when there will be a mix of cloud and sun as well as the chance of rain (5-15% between Fri and Sun).

Weather in North Tenerife –  A sunny week with perfect temperatures of around 25C becomes a mix of cloud and sun from Friday when, like the south, rain is a possibility (5-20%).

Weather in East Tenerife –  The week starts at around 26/27C before dropping a few degrees as the week progresses. Like everywhere else, some cloud will roll in for the weekend but from Thursday rather than Friday. There is a 5-20% chance of rain between Friday and Sunday.

Weather in South West Tenerife – Exact same story as the south except maybe a degree or so hotter.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – A sunny week but with maybe the first signs of a change of seasons with an almost 10 degree drop in temperatures in the Mount Teide crater as the week progresses, although it’s a bit of an early one. Temperatures in the crater will vary between 13C and 21C, whilst on the summit they will be between 5C and 10C.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show a sun kissed Tenerife.
