The Weather in Tenerife 18th July to 24th July

It wasn’t the greatest summer week on Tenerife. The south enjoyed a lot of sunshine as predicted, but there were also a lot of cloudy spells, an occasional breeze that made temperatures feel unseasonable low and even light drizzle in some areas. The trade winds continue to make the north a bit dull and dreary this July and the sun was an infrequent visitor to the north coast where it rained more in the last week than if you lumped together all the July’s since I’ve lived here (8 years).

The Weather in Tenerife from 25th July to 1st August

A hot and sunny week is predicted across Tenerife. In the south sided of the island temperatures are set to soar to heatwave levels towards the end of the week. This, combined with predicted high winds on Mount Teide on Thursday has us wondering if a calima is on the way.

Weather in South Tenerife – Sunny with some light cloud all week. Temperatures are set to rise as the week progresses pushing the mercury up into the 30s by the weekend.

Weather in North Tenerife – Mostly sun with more cloud than sun on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Temperatures should be 25C.

Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny on Monday and Tuesday, then cloud and sun for the rest of the week except Friday which should be very cloudy. There’s a 5% chance of rain on Sunday. Temperatures should be a baking 28C

Weather in South West Tenerife –  Exactly the same as the south – sunny with some light cloud all week. Temperatures are set to rise as the week progresses pushing the mercury up into the 30s by the weekend.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It should be sunny in Mount Teide National Park and on the summit of Teide all week. Temperatures in the crater stay will be 16C at the start of the week before soaring to 25C in the second half of the week and around 8-10C on the summit. High winds of up to 50kph are expected on Thursday so check that the cable car is running before travelling.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show a mix of cloud and sun in the south, sun just starting to break through on the north coast and sunshine in the east and even at the north airport.

Pic: a bit of a rarity of late – a sunny day at the north airport.
