The Weather in Tenerife 15th to 21st November

Once again the forecast rain didn’t really materialise…not on the coasts anyway. There was rain in La Laguna and Santa Cruz at the start of the week, but it didn’t really reach the coastal areas. Most of the week was a mix of sun and cloud with the north coast probably experiencing slightly more sunshine than the south. It’s unusual for this time of year and a pattern that has stretched back two to three weeks now. Temperatures have levelled out around a more seasonable 23C.

Towards the end of the week cloud did roll in during the afternoon, settling on the northern slopes. But it was mostly a thin layer, settling low in the valley making for some incredible hiking and walking above the clouds in the upper Orotava Valley.  Overall the actual weather on Tenerife was much better than the week that had been forecast.

The snow forecast for snow on Mount Teide didn’t happen, so we’re still waiting for that first snowfall of the year

Weather in North Tenerife
– Mostly sunny from Mon to Wednesday. Sun, cloud and rain (65-100% chance) Thurs to Saturday. Cloudy with rain on Sunday. Temperatures should be around 23C.

Weather in East Tenerife – Mostly sunny from Mon to Wednesday. Sun, cloud and rain (55-95% chance) Thurs to Saturday. Cloudy with rain on Sunday. Temperatures should be around 25C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Sunny ever day except Thursday afternoon when some cloud is forecast. Temperatures in the crater should be around 12C and on the summit of Mount Teide a chilly 1C dropping -3C. It looks as though it could be quite windy on Thursday and Friday so check if the cable car is travelling if planning a visit.

So far today it is a beautiful sunny morning in north Tenerife. Webcams show cloud in La Laguna, Santa Cruz and the east and plenty of sunshine on the south coast. The main south west webcams still aren’t working.
