The Weather in Tenerife 14th February to 20th February

The Tenerife weather forecasters are on a good run at the moment. The week started off quite cloudy but that soon made way for the sun. Monday was a grey, damp day in the north  and it did rain on Tuesday…but only during the night. Most of the week it was sunny in the south with some light cloud and sunny mornings and late afternoons in the north. There was a noticeable rise in temperatures as the week progressed with the thermometers reading 24C in Puerto de la Cruz during the weekend.

The high waves arrived spectacularly…and tragically. The accident in Puerto Santiago last week was a sombre reminder that whilst the waves are hypnotically beautifully, they are also very dangerous. Yesterday the sea wall in Puerto de la Cruz was full of people ignoring the police tape as they tried to get closer for that ‘awesome’ picture – even as huge waves engulfed parts of the wall.

The Weather in Tenerife 21st February to 27th February

Not much to say about the weather forecast for Tenerife for the coming week. It’s going to be mostly sunny across the island with another small rise in the temperature at the weekend. Is that spring on the horizon?

Weather in South Tenerife – Sunny all week with only occasional light cloud on a couple of days. Temperatures should be around 23C.

Weather in North Tenerife – Sunny all week with a chance of light cloud most days. Temperatures should be around 22C.

Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny all week with a chance of light cloud most days especially on Wednesday and Friday when there’s also a 25% chance of rain. Temperatures should be around 23C.

Weather in South West Tenerife
– Exactly the same weather forecast as the south of Tenerife except it might be one degree cooler at around 22C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Apart from this morning, when there’s some cloud, it’s sunshine all week at Mount Teide and in the crater with temperatures around 13C.  The weather forecast for the summit is exactly the same except it will be substantially cooler averaging around 2/3C.

At this moment the cable car is operating normally.

So far today the light early morning cloud has been replaced by sunshine around Tenerife’s coastline.
