Not much different to report than in recent weeks about the weather on Tenerife except that there has been a definite shift from spring temperatures (mid 20s) to summer (upper 20s). There was still some cloud about on some days and even light rain on the north coast on Saturday, whilst some parts of the south experienced quite windy conditions but overall it was hot to very hot. Thursday was an extremely case with the thermometer shooting up to the mid 30s in some parts. It’s looking like it’s going to be a real hot one for those Midsummer parties across Tenerife.

The Weather in Tenerife from 20th June to 26th June

Midsummer week is predicted to be hot and sunny. Seriously hot and sunny in fact as a orange alert for high temperatures has been issued by the Spanish Met Office for the eastern Canary Islands from today and a yellow alert for the south and south west of Tenerife from tomorrow. They are predicting temperatures of 37C+ in the eastern islands and 34C+ on Tenerife.

We would advise against walking too far when the alert is in place, especially if thehot temperatures are accompanied by calima.

Weather in South Tenerife – Sunny and hot all week. Temperatures should be a sizzling 29C.

Weather in North Tenerife – Mostly sunny and hot all week with some light cloud on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures should be a perfect 24C.

Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny and hot all week with temperatures around 27C.

Weather in South West Tenerife –  Sunny and hot all week. Like the south of Tenerife temperatures should be around 29C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It should be sunny in Mount Teide National Park and on the summit of Teide all week except. Temperatures in the crater stay around 20C and 8C on the summit.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show sunny skies almost everywhere except the La Orotava Valley where the sun is just beginning to burn off an early morning mist.
