The Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 2nd to 8th July
The first week in July saw mostly a hot and sunny one in the south with only a bit of cloud creeping in on Sunday and a mix of sun and cloud in the north until Friday when the cloud rolled in and didn’t move throughout the weekend.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 9th to 15th July
It should be a sunny week across Tenerife with signs that there might be a calima affecting the south, south east and south west by the weekend. This is the week when fishermen honour their patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen and there will be celebrations in fishing communities throughout Tenerife. One of the biggest is in Puerto de la Cruz where upwards of 35,000 will turn out to cheer the Virgen del Carmen on her annual sea trip. Interestingly, in our 9 years on Tenerife it has always been sunny for the Día de la Embarcación (the main day of celebrations) in Puerto no matter what the weather has been like in the run-up. It takes place on Tuesday (10th) so let’s see if the pattern is maintained.

Weather in South Tenerife –  Simply a hot and sunny week in the south of Tenerife with only a few little fluffy clouds now and again. It’s going to be a hot one with temperatures starting the week around 28C and creeping upwards to the 30C by the weekend when it will also be quite breezy. A rise in temperatures and a strong breeze usually means one thing; calima could be coming back. There’s a weather alert from Wednesday but that’s only for lively seas at the moment.

Weather in North Tenerife – A sunny week with a few clouds is also forecast for the north. Temperatures will be a less hot 25/26C and the breeze at the weekend won’t be as strong as in other parts; another indicator that it could be calima signs.

Weather in East Tenerife
– Basically hot, sunny and breezy on the east coast and in Santa Cruz all week. Temperatures will be a hot 28/29C.

Weather in South West Tenerife – Once again the south west mirrors the south with a sunny week that only sees a few clouds. Temperatures will be slightly hotter, starting the week at around 26C and ending it in the low 30s. The second half of the week will be quite breezy and the coast will also be affected by the weather alert for choppy seas and high waves.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It will be sunshine all week on Mount Teide and in Teide National Park. Temperatures in the crater will vary from 22C to a hot 26C and from 9C to 11C on the summit.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show a north south – east west start to the week with both the north and south having quite a lot of cloud cover and the east and west showing blue skies.
