The Weather in Tenerife 4th July to 10th July

Although warmer than the best of British summer weather, it wasn’t quite as good as the previous week. In the south of Tenerife it was hot (upper 20s) with plenty of sunshine with some cloudy intervals. The north experienced the sort of weather it often experiences during the first week of July – warm (temperatures stay around the mid 20s at worst during the day) but cloudy and, unusually for July, even some light rain. The week ended with a yellow alert for rough seas and high winds which didn’t really materialise, instead it was a scorcher of a day on the coast with cloud on the hills to make walking a bit more bearable.

The Weather in Tenerife from 11th July to 17th July

There should be plenty of sun across Tenerife with the south and south west experiencing more clear skies than the north and east. This is the week of the Virgen del Carmen fishermen’s fiestas in fishing communities and bizarrely in the seven years we’ve been on Tenerife it has always been sunny for the fiesta in Puerto de la Cruz – irrespective of what the weather has been like in the run up. We’ll have to see if the trend continues. The Spanish Met Offices continues to predict that most of the cloud will be in Santa Cruz – this mystifies as Santa Cruz is one of the places on Tenerife where in regular visits over the years it has been consistently sunny. Maybe they’re trying to keep that a secret.

If one source is quoting midday to afternoon temperatures for one area it won’t be an accurate comparison if a different source for another area is using temperature readings taken early morning.
