The Weather in Tenerife 30th May to 5th June
Once again it didn’t turn out quite the wall to wall sunshine as predicted. The pattern continued in much of the same vein as the previous couple of weeks with a lot of sunshine in the south of Tenerife but also with more cloudy spells than forecast. In the north it there was much more cloud than sunshine despite weathermen showing us pictures of glowing golden orbs. However, the temperatures continued to be very warm, around the mid 20s in coastal areas, and rain was sparse.
The Weather in Tenerife from 6th June to 12th June
Interestingly Spain’s Meteorological Office AEMET have updated their website to include a more detailed short term daily breakdown. What this means is that week of predicted unbroken sunshine doesn’t look quite the same when broken down into morning, afternoon and evening. Subsequently it looks as though the pattern of sun with cloudy spells continues for another week with more chance of cloud in the afternoon. There is a slight chance of showers forecast in some parts, but at this time of year on Tenerife that can literally mean a few spots.
Weather in South Tenerife – Sunny and hot all week with the chance of cloudy spells during the afternoon. Temperatures should remain around 26C.
Weather in North Tenerife – Predicted to be mostly sunny with cloudy spells all week except Wednesday when there will be a mix of cloud and sun. Temperatures are forecast to be around 22C all week which seems on the low side for the time of year and unrelated to temperatures elsewhere which is a bit odd. There’s a 5 to 10% chance of showers at the weekend.
Weather in East Tenerife – The forecasts for the east are baffling. In reality the east enjoys more sunshine than other parts of Tenerife, but forecasts seem to always predict cloud; maybe their trying to deter tourists and keep the best weather for themselves. Once again the forecast this week shows mostly cloud with some sunny spells except for Monday and Tuesday when it will be sunny. There’s a 5 to 10% chance of rain towards the end of the week. Temperatures should be around the 25C mark.
Weather in South West Tenerife – Sunny and hot all week with the chance of cloudy spells during the afternoon. Temperatures should remain around 27C and there is a slight chance of rain towards the end of the week.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It should be sunny in Mount Teide National Park and on the summit of Teide all week except. Temperatures in the crater will be around 14c and 5C on the summit.
So far today webcams around Tenerife are showing sunshine with some clouds in the south and clouds with the tiniest of blue patches in the north whilst Santa Cruz in the east looks positively gloomy.
