The Weather in Tenerife 20th to 26th September

The Spanish weather forecasters got  the weather for Tenerife almost perfect last week. Lots of sunshine as predicted, except there was probably more sunshine than forecast at the start of the week and Saturday, which was supposed to be sunny, was cloudy all day in both the north and the south.

The rain came as predicted on Wednesday when pretty much the whole island enjoyed a good drenching; it was almost possible to hear the earth and plants sighing with pleasure.

Despite the cloud on Saturday, it was very hot and humid and walking any distance on Tenerife felt like walking in a sauna.

The Weather in Tenerife 27th September to 3rd October

Very easy this week – the forecast is for a gloriously sunny week all over Tenerife.

Weather in South Tenerife –  a sunny week with a 5% chance of rain on Tuesday and average temperatures of around 27%.

Weather in North Tenerife –  Like the south it’s sunny all week, but no rain predicted. Average temperatures should be around 26C.

Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny with a 5% chance of rain on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will average 29C.

Weather in South West Tenerife – Exactly the same forecast as the south.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – A sunny week in the crater if a bit on the fresh side with temperatures averaging 15C in the crater and 7C on the summit of Mount Teide. After a breezy couple of weeks, there is very little wind forecast.

From a check of the webcams it doesn’t look as though parts of Tenerife have realised it’s going to be a lovely week yet. Playa Las Vistas in Los Cristianos is beneath dark cloud, the ground looks wet in Guia de Isora and Santa Cruz in the east also looks to be cloudy whilst the north coast is in full sunshine.

Mount Teide has a small white cap on its summit (cloud not snow) which sometimes suggest inclement weather somewhere on the island.  If the forecasters are right, any cloud that’s about should move off quite quickly.
