The Weather in Tenerife 13th February to 19th February
We said it would be a mixed bag on Tenerife as far as the weather was concerned last week and it certainly was. Days in the south tended to start sunny and then cloud over with even some rainfall towards the second half of the week. Cool temperatures remained constant for most of the week prompting some to question whether it was the coldest Tenerife winter for years. However, it was a different story elsewhere. The cool wind kept temperatures low during the first half of the week but there was a lot more sunshine than predicted in the north. Then the situation changed and temperatures rose to accompany the sun. Although there was a yellow alert for rain it didn’t amount to much and by Thursday Santa Cruz was basking in hot sunshine. Similarly Los Gigantes on the south west coast was warm and sunny on Friday and at 1000 metres it was a very different scene than the previous week. The predicted snow finally fell and Mount Teide looked resplendent on Friday morning. A balmy evening in Santa Cruz created the perfect temperatures for the opening carnival parade. The weekend in the north ended in gloriously warm and sunny fashion.

The Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 20th February to 26th February
There really is something strange going on with the weather this year. Carnival week on Tenerife is predicted to be settled and sunny with only the slightest possibility of rain. It’s perfect weather for walking on Tenerife, lying on a beach or partying the night away. We’ll see next week if this has turned out to be a carnival where for once the weather hasn’t put a dampener on at least one of the main events.

Weather in South Tenerife – Looks like it should be a beautiful week in the south of Tenerife with sunshine all the way except for the occasional fluffy cloud. There’s a 5% chance of rain on Wednesday but that’s unlikely to touch the coast. Temperatures will stay around 20C in the shade.

Weather in North Tenerife – Like the south, the north should be mainly sunny with only a few clouds, especially on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Heavy rain is still staying away with a 5 chance of a shower on Friday and Sunday. Temperatures should be 17C in the shade.

Weather in East Tenerife – Same as the north and south with sunshine for most of the week with cloudy spells on Wednesday and Thursday and a 5% possibility of rain on Friday and Sunday. Temperatures will be around 19/20C in the shade.

Weather in South West Tenerife – Almost exactly the same as the south; a sunny week with light cloud now and again and a 5% chance of rain on Thursday and Sunday. Temperatures should be about 22/23C in the shade.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It should be a sunny week in the crater except Wednesday afternoon when there will be cloud. The summit of Mount Teide is similar except there will be cloud and possibly snow this morning when it will also be quite windy. Temperatures in the crater will vary from 4 to 9C and from -3 to a chilly -6C on the summit.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show a sunny south and a cloudy north.
