Two notices on either side of the path, but with two different messages. The one on the left advises ‘entra usted en un espacio natural protegido’ which translates as ‘you are entering a protected natural area’. The one on the other reads ‘sale usted de un espacio natural protegido’ which translates as…you’ve guessed it; ‘you are leaving a protected natural area.’
By my reckoning that makes the ‘protected area’ that little patch of pale earth between the signs.
Presumably one of them needs to be gyrated through 180 degrees?
