The Tenerife view of the week comes from the summit of Montaña Tejina way above the south west coast. From this point it’s possible to see all the way along the coast from Costa Adeje to Playa de la Arena, but the best view is inland to the delightful terraced valley at the partly abandoned agricultural hamlet of Las Fuentes. Spain’s highest mountain, Mount Teide is completely insignificant from this side of Tenerife and can just about be seen peeking above the ridge.
There’s not a path as such to the summit, so it’s a bit of an uphill slog, but the reward is worth every muscle stretching step.
