This week’s ‘Tenerife View of the Week’ is a bit of a fraud as we’ve been chained to the keyboard all this week.
However, it was taken at the end of last week, just before the cloud and rain rolled in and put a dampener on the La Orotava Corpus Christi celebrations.
Many people say that the La Orotava Valley has been spoiled by over development. It’s a claim that’s hard to dispute in parts, but not all, of the coastal area.
However, you don’t have to travel far up the valley to find a land of small hamlets beside neat emerald terraces and beyond that unbroken pine forests on the way to Mount Teide.
It’s a view that hasn’t changed an awful lot since Victorian adventurers were ‘wowed’ by it and it’s one I never tire of seeing.
