Weather Forecast for 4 to 10 January
On the one hand there was rain and some Three Kings parades were moved indoors in the hill towns above the north coast. There was also light rain in parts over the weekend with even the likes of Los Gigantes experiencing drizzle on Saturday morning. We left Puerto de la Cruz in sunshine, drove through fog and drizzle on the new road linking the north west with the south west and emerged into sunshine again above the south west coast. Most of the week was sunnier and warmer than expected although there was a noticeable difference when you moved from full sun to shade.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife 10 to 17 January
The forecast might not look perfect but it isn’t bad for winter. It seems as though it will be similar to the week just gone with sunshine every day, some cloud cover now and again, and a chance of showers. Temperatures should be decent as well with shade temperatures in the low 20sC on all coasts which means in the sunshine it will feel more like the mid 20s. It’s common for Mount Teide to slip into winter clothing in January and it’s looking like this could be the week the mountain slips into its white coat.

Weather in South Tenerife –  After a sunny Monday morning there will be a mix of sun and cloud all week with a 5-45% possibility of rain between Wednesday and Sunday. Temperatures should stay around 22/23C in the shade all week.

Weather in North Tenerife
–  After a sunny Monday there will be a mix of sun and cloud all week with a 5-55% possibility of rain between Wednesday and Sunday. Temperatures should stay around 19/22C in the shade all week.

Weather in East Tenerife
–  All day Monday should be mainly sunny whereas Tuesday could be cloudy and sun free. From then it will be mainly a mix of sun and cloud for the rest of the week. As with other places, there’s a possibility of rain from Wednesday to Sunday (5-55%). Temperatures should stay around 19/22C in the shade all week.

Weather in South West Tenerife –  After a sunny Monday morning there will be a mix of sun and cloud all week with a 5-45% possibility of rain between Wednesday and Sunday. Temperatures should stay around 22/24C in the shade all week.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – The pattern is similar in Teide National Park where after a sunny Monday morning at crater level there will be a mix of sun and cloud throughout the rest of the week with some rain likely between Wednesday night and Sunday. On Mount Teide it should be sunny on Monday and Tuesday and then a mix of sun and cloud for the rest of the week. Snow showers are forecast from Wednesday night through to the weekend so it’s a fair bet that Teide will be covered in white before the week’s out. Temperatures should hover between 9 and 12C in the crater and 1C and 3C on the summit of Mount Teide.

The Tenerife Weather This Time in 2014

So what happened this time last year? ‘Calima lasted a bit longer in some southern parts than everywhere else on Tenerife and all across the island there were long sunny spells mixed with some cloud and even rainfall in parts (usually at night or early morning). Temperatures remained on the low side.’
