The Weather in Tenerife 27th September to 3rd October

Not a great week for the Spanish Met Office. The gloriously sunny week didn’t really turn out quite the way it was predicted. There was plenty of sunshine throughout the week, but there was also quite a bit of cloud. The north coast had a better first half of the week with sunny days up until Thursday night whilst the south had the better of the weather in the second half although Saturday, just like the previous week, was cloudy most places. The predicted rain did appear with light rain being reported in Los Cristianos whilst Puerto de la Cruz experienced a decent spell of rain on Wednesday night (mostly during the football, so good timing). The pattern of weather at the moment shows the difference that the north and the south can experience. In the latter half of the week (Thur to Sun), the north started sunny but clouded over during the day whereas on some days the south started the day with cloud which mostly cleared up quite quickly. Our advice to anyone staying in the north is to do your sunbathing in the morning and sightseeing in the afternoon to get the best of both worlds.

The Weather in Tenerife 4th to 10th October

Weather in South Tenerife –  Mostly sunny except on Sunday when there should be a mix of sun and cloud. However, there is a chance of rain (5-35%) from Wednesday onwards. Temperatures should be around 26C.

Weather in North Tenerife –  Sunny Mon and from Thurs to Sat. Mix of sun and cloud Tues to Fri and cloudy Sunday. Like the south there is a chance of rain from Wednesday (10–65%). Average temperatures should be around 25C.

Weather in East Tenerife – Sunny from Thurs-Sat; sun and cloud Mon-Wed; cloudy Sunday. There’s a possibility of rain all week in the east of Tenerife. Temperatures will average 28C.

Weather in South West Tenerife – Exactly the same forecast as the south…again.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – A sunny week in the crater with temperatures averaging 15C in the crater and 6C on the summit of Mount Teide.

Rain has come to Tenerife quite early this year – sometimes it can be the end of October before there’s more than a light drizzle. But even still forecasters are predicting a warmer and drier period than normal on Tenerife from October to December.

So far today it’s a lovely sunny morning on the north coast with webcams showing scattered clouds in the south and south east. However, quite a few webcams are broken, so their images are not always to be trusted.
