Tenerife Weather Update 2nd June 2010

The calima continues to keep temperatures high across Tenerife with a ‘yellow’ alert still in place for today and tomorrow. Temperatures should reach 30+ all over the island.

From the webcam pictures of the south of Tenerife, this calima doesn’t appear to be as sand filled as some, with visibility being relatively good.

The calima doesn’t affect the north of Tenerife as much as the south and east coasts as a result it’s deliciously hot and sunny in the north – but evidence of the calima can be seen in the fact that the cumbre and Mount Teide are only just visible even though the sky is cloudless.

In terms of walking, it’s going to be hot going everywhere and not a good day for taking photos of the landscape.
