The Weather Forecast for 15th to 21st April
Again the weather panned out almost as forecast with a warm week becoming seriously hot over the weekend as a sand laden calima hit Tenerife and the Canary Islands and pushed the thermometer into the upper 30s in the shade. It might sound great to those in much, much cooler climates but it’s definitely not walking weather.
Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 22nd to 28th April
It should be another sunny week with the high temperatures caused by calima cooling back down to the low 20s as the week progresses. Despite the temporary highs, summer is still a way off and there’s even a chance of rain and a flurry of snow on Mount Teide. Overall it should be perfect for exploring the countryside.
Weather in South Tenerife – Another hot and sunny week with temperatures of 30+C on Monday still reflecting the departing calima. The weather cools to a pleasant 22C as the week goes on.
Weather in North Tenerife – It’s a similar sunny scene in the north with shade temperatures of 28C dropping on a daily basis to end the week at around 19C.
Weather in East Tenerife – Almost a mirror of the north’s weather with a hot sunny start to the week (27C) before things cool down to 18C in the shade for the weekend.
Weather in South West Tenerife – No different in the south west; 30+C at the start of the week, 22/23C at the end of the week.
Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Things are slightly different in Teide National Park where there might be a couple of cloudy spells on Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. These cloudy spells may bring rain in the crater on Wednesday and possibly even some snow on Mount Teide’s slopes. It could also be very windy on the summit next weekend so check if the cable car is running before travelling. Temperatures in the crater will vary between 11 and 19C, whilst on the summit they will be between 0C and 4C.
So far today webcams around Tenerife show a sunny Tenerife.
