The Weather in Tenerife 30th August to 5th September

Very little to say about the weather last week except that it was, as AEMet predicted, hot and sunny for most of the week across Tenerife. Although the hot weather alert was lifted from Wednesday and the temperature dropped by a couple of degrees to a less sizzling upper 20s, it  still felt incredibly hot.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 6th September to 12th September

Weather in South Tenerife – 25% chance of rain today, then hot and sunny all week (average temps 27C).

Weather in North Tenerife – 35% chance of rain today, then hot and sunny all week (average temps 26C).

Weather in East Tenerife – 55% chance of rain today, then hot and sunny all week with temps rising to 30-31C at the weekend.

Weather in South West Tenerife – 25% chance of rain today, then hot and sunny all week (average temps 26C).

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – Partly cloudy this morning and unbroken sunshine for the rest of the week with temps being around 18C in the crater dropping to between 8 -10C at the summit.

The Eastern Canary Islands were on a yellow alert for heavy rain today as a storm front passed on it’s way north, but that seems to have missed the islands and the normal ‘green’ has been resumed. However, it looks as though it’s the fringes of that weather front that is causing the cloud forecast for today.

So far though it’s been a sunny morning on the north coast with webcam pictures showing cloud across a lot of the rest Tenerife and even in the crater. These should clear by this pm if AEMet are correct.

It looks like the perfect week for walking on Tenerife.
