The Weather Forecast for 28th January to 3rd February
There was far more sunshine than expected during the week with high temperatures that brought back memories of late summer. An absolute stormer of a week for anyone visiting the island be it for lying on a beach or for walking on Tenerife. This was due to the lightest of calimas which brought sunshine and heat but without the thick sand clouds. As predicted Sunday was the cloudiest day with rain in parts.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 4th to 10th February

It looks as though there will be a south/west north/east divide across Tenerife this week with southern and western parts experiencing a mainly sunny week with a couple of cloudy days and northern and eastern parts seeing a mainly cloudy  week with a couple of sunny days. It’s carnival, so no real surprise there. Temperatures will be in the low 20s which is more the norm for this time of year rather than last week’s unusually hot weather. There’s a chance of rain everywhere but only for showers. But as it’s carnival we’ll see how the weather progresses for the opening weekend.

Weather in South Tenerife –  It should be another mainly sunny week in the south of Tenerife although Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday could see more cloud than sunshine. Temperatures return to a more seasonal 22-22C and their will be a chance of rain on Wednesday and between Friday and Sunday (5%).

Weather in North TenerifeCarnival starts properly in northern parts this week and typically the weather takes a downturn. After a sunny Monday and Tuesday, the cloud is set to roll in and there will be more cloud than sunshine for the rest of the week with a 15-20% chance of rain between Friday and Sunday. Temperature will be around 16/20C in the shade.

Weather in East Tenerife
–  Like the north the east will see a sunny Monday and Tuesday morph into cloud with some sunny spells for the rest of the week. There’s a chance of rain  over the weekend (15-20% although as it’s carnival we’re betting it’ll be 100%) and temperatures will be around 17/19C.

Weather in South West Tenerife
– Very similar to the south with a sunny week except for Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday which will be cloudy. There’s a chance of rain on Wednesday and over the weekend (5-10%) and temperatures will be around 21/26C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater
– Even Teide National Park doesn’t escape the cloud this week with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday having cloudy spells. Temperatures in the crater will range from 7C to 11C and between -2C and -4C on the peak.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show a mix of sun and cloud in the north of Tenerife with mainly sunshine in the south.

Pic: The run up to carnival saw blues skies and an aroma of sizzling chorizos and calamari from carnival kiosks in the north of Tenerife.
