The Weather in Tenerife 25th April to 1st May

It turned out to be one of those weeks that illustrated perfectly why weather forecasts on Tenerife should at best be treated as ‘guidelines’. The mix of sun, cloud and rain arrived as predicted but also accompanied by some cool strong winds and even snow.
However, whereas the cool, cloudy windy weather affected the south and south west for most of the week the weather took a turn for the better on the north coast where the days were mostly sunny and warm between Wednesday and Sunday (when temperatures topped 26C) although some nights experienced rainfall which reached monsoon proportions. The week ended with quite incredible contrasts. As the north coast enjoyed a glorious second half to the day, some southern parts reported cold, windy weather whilst others enjoyed a sunny and calm afternoon as the clouds disappeared to reveal fresh snowfall on Mount Teide and along the island’s spine.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It should be sunny in Mount Teide National Park and on the summit of Teide all week. Temperatures in the crater will average around 12C in the crater and 2C on the summit.. Today will be quite windy in the crater so check that the cable car is operating before travelling.

So far today itit is still quite cloudy across Tenerife, but there are ‘blue sky’ hints that the clouds may be slowly breaking up.
