The Weather in Tenerife 11th to 17th October

The weather forecasters didn’t get it quite right last week. The start of the week wasn’t great as predicted and there was rain pretty much everywhere during parts of Monday and Tuesday, but even then it was sunny in the afternoon. Los Rodeos (the north airport)  was the worst for weather on Tenerife as usual with low cloud creating a fog-like blanket over the area causing some flights to be cancelled.
However, the second half of the week was much better with little, or no rain and lots of sunshine. Overall it was still a very warm week with temperatures in the mid to upper 20s.

The Weather in Tenerife 18th to 24th October

It’s almost a rerun of last week as far as the weather is concerned. A storm in the Atlantic travelling north is going to cause Tenerife’s weather to be unsettled during the first half of the week.

Weather in South Tenerife –  Cloudy with sunny spells all week with a chance of rain every day. There’s more chance of rain at the start of the week (85%) than at the end(15%). Temperatures should be around 26C.

Weather in North Tenerife –  Cloudy with sunny spells all week with a chance of rain every day. There’s more chance of rain at the start of the week (75%) than at the end(25%). Temperatures should be around 25C.

Weather in East Tenerife –  Cloudy with sunny spells all week with a chance of rain every day. There’s more chance of rain at the start of the week (65%) than at the end(30%). Temperatures should be around 27C

Weather in South West Tenerife – Cloudy with sunny spells all week with a chance of rain every day. There’s more chance of rain at the start of the week (85%) than at the end(15%). Temperatures should be around 26C.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater –  Sunny all week in the crater except Friday afternoon and Saturday with temperatures averaging 13C in the crater and 3C on the summit of Mount Teide.

We’re getting to the time of year when snow can put in an appearance on Mount Teide, but so far no predictions of snowfall.

Although there are no high winds predicted for Teide, the cable car isn’t operating at the moment as it’s undergoing maintenance work. We don’t know when this is due to finish, so check before making any trips if you were planning on taking a cable car ride.

So far today it’s a grey day across Tenerife. There was some light rain in the night in the north during the night. One resident in the south reported some light rain there as well but also accompanied by high winds.
