Apologies for the absence of a weather report last week; we were hiking across the north of Gran Canaria.

The Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 11th to 17th June
“It’s been a miserable summer in Britain,” exclaimed the female singer with Spikedrivers at Santa Blues at around 10.30pm on Saturday night. “And here were are, singing under the stars and it’s hot.”
From the smile on her face it was easy to see she was appreciating Tenerife’s weather. It was simply a beaut of a week for holidaymakers, the Santa Blues Festival and La Orotava’s Corpus Christi flower carpets. For anyone walking in Tenerife in places without any shade it might not have been as much fun. For a start there was the heat and secondly the week started with a weather alert for strong winds on Tenerife’s higher ground. On the coast it sizzled and any wind that blew in would have been welcomed.

Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 18th to 24th June
This is the week that summer officially begins and it looks like it will be another hot and sunny one. Midsummer’s Eve sees beach traditional parties in parts of Tenerife and it should be the perfect weather for a bit of midnight bathing to welcome summer. There is one question mark over the weather; temperatures in Teide National Park are predicted to shoot up to a steamy 24C on Saturday night. There’s no high wind so it seems to rule a calima out but whether this means another heatwave is on the way, we’ll have to see.

Weather in South Tenerife –  Simply a sunny week with only a few light clouds around on some days. It might be a bit breezy over the weekend but temperatures will stay a hot 28C in the shade all week.

Weather in North Tenerife – Same as the south – sun, sun, sun with temperatures around 24/25C in the shade.

Weather in East Tenerife – A sunny week on the east coast with maybe a bit of cloud on Friday. It might be a breezy week but that’s common for the east coast. It will be a hot 27C in the shade.

Weather in South West Tenerife – Like everywhere else, expect a sunny week in the south west with temperatures in the shade being 29C which makes it an awful lot hotter in direct sunshine. Like the south it could be breezy at the weekend.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater
– Once again it will be unbroken sunshine all week on Mount Teide and in Teide National Park. Temperatures in the crater will vary from 16C to a hot 24C on Saturday night and from 6C to 10C on the summit.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show mainly sunshine everywhere.
