The Weather in Tenerife 10th to 16th October
Apart from the odd rogue cloud it was a hot and sunny week across most of Tenerife with even the high areas feeling the effects of a mini heatwave that pushed temps to 36C in the south and 34c in the north (in the shade). Walking to the Paisajes Lunar above Vilaflor was made a tad more taxing by sweltering temperatures.

The Weather Forecast for Tenerife from 17th to 23rd October
It looks like the spell of fantastic weather we’ve been enjoying on Tenerife may come to an end this week. Temperatures will still be very warm but quite a bit of cloud and some rain is predicted across Tenerife which is not too unusual for this time of year. If patterns are the same as in previous years, the rain should be short, quite light and welcomed by residents if not visitors.

The big news as far as the weather is concerned is that the first snowfall of the year on Mount Teide is forecast for Wednesday afternoon.

Weather in South Tenerife – It’s going to be cloudy with only some sunny spells until Wednesday. From Thursday to Sunday there will be a mix of cloud and sun. There is a 5-30% possibility of rain from Tuesday onwards. Temperatures should be around 30C at the start of the week and 28C by the end of the week.

Weather in North Tenerife –  There will be a mix of cloud and sun all week with temperatures of 25C at the beginning of the week and 23c by the weekend. There’s a 5-45% chance of rain between Tuesday and Sunday.

Weather in East Tenerife – Much the same as everywhere else with a mix of cloud and sun all week and the chance of rain being 5-45% from Tuesday onwards. Temperatures will be around the 27/28C mark all week.

Weather in South West Tenerife – The south and south west look as though they could have more cloud than the north and east of Tenerife at the start of the week with more cloud than sun until Thursday when there will be a mix of sun and cloud for the rest of the week. The south west should be the warmest part of the island with temperatures ranging from 29-31C. Again there’s a 5-35% chance of rain between Tuesday and Sunday.

Weather in the Mount Teide Crater – It’s a week of high cloud with even the crater and the summit of Mount Teide experiencing a mix of cloud and sun every day except Thursday and Friday when normal service of full sunshine should be resumed. Temperatures in the crater will start the week at 17C and finish at 10C. On the summit it will be 0C.

This could be the week when we see the first snow on Mount Teide as snow showers are predicted for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

So far today webcams around Tenerife show cloud across Tenerife…that is except Costa Adeje’s webcam which seems to show sunshine. Strange considering the Iberostar hotel’s webcam in Costa Adeje contradicts with images of thick cloud – hmmm.
